Tips to write a great narrative

It's easy to write a narrative, don't you think? You have lot's of tools such as videos, traillers, song that can inspire you to write . But you need pay attention in certain details, for example: your narrative need to be organized, you will guide your reader through your text. So you need to decide how you will organize your narrative. There are three different ways of arranging ideas:

Time Order

"Most narratives (compositions that tell a story, relate a series of events, or describe a process) are arranged in chronological order; that is , they are arranged in the order in which the events of the narrative occurred." It is also important to  use references to the time of the day, day of the week or specific dates and transition words such as first, then, next and last to indicate the passage of time.

Space Order

Many compositions, especially those that describes places or people, are arraged in the space order; that is, the objects or details are arranged in the order in which they are observed in space. If you want to organize your narrative in this way, you should include  references to directions, such as right, left, up, down, east, west,under, over, beyond, in front of , behind and so on.

Order of Importance

You can choose write the facts through the order of importance. Writes may begin with the most important supporting point and end with the least important. If you want create a suspense, it'll be better to begin with the least important fact and end with the most important, which allows them to build to a high point, or climax. You can help your reader by emphasizing the major points with transition words such as first, second and finally or with transition phrases such as more important and most important.

According to Wikipedia Fairy Tale is:
A fairy tale is a type of short narrative that typically features such folkloric characters, such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, dwarves, giants or gnomes, and usually magic or enchantments.The stories may nonetheless be distinguished from other folk narratives such as legends (which generally involve belief in the veracity of the events described)[1] and explicitly moral tales, including beast fables.

Originally most of these beautiful tales were not so beautiful, they would be cruel sometimes, They were told with the purpose of teach children, but they used to do it by fear. In these tales we have advices and morals like, be obedient to your parents, do not take anything a strange offers to you....
The most recent movie based on these original tales the most recent is "Red Riding Hood"

NARRATIVE AND POETRY

We've been talking about Narratives, that Narrative is a sequence of events, we have a plot, characters,etc..
But now do you think that poetry can narrate a story?Well, first let's see the definition of poem.

po·em (pōˈəm)

So now I think you will agree with me, when I tell you that a poem CAN narrate a story.
So let's read together a beautiful poem called ANNABEL LEE  by  Allan Poe one of the most admired poets of American Lterature.

By Edgar Allan Poe 1809–1849 Edgar Allan Poe

It was many and many a year ago,
   In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
   By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
   Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
   In this kingdom by the sea,
But we loved with a love that was more than love—
   I and my Annabel Lee—
With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
   Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
   In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
   My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
   And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
   In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
   Went envying her and me—
Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know,
   In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
   Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
   Of those who were older than we—
   Of many far wiser than we—
And neither the angels in Heaven above
   Nor the demons down under the sea
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
   Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
   Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
   Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
   Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride,
   In her sepulchre there by the sea—
   In her tomb by the sounding sea.
We can also find the poetry reading of the poem and a song , as this poem has a great musicality It's not difficult to do it, and It tells the story of a beautiful maiden called Annabel Lee.
In Brazil we can find a poem narrating a story such as "Cantiga" by Alvares de Azevedo
I hope you enjoy your reading, and Why not?You can try to Write a poem telling a story, It must be funny!
